Everything you need to know about Cadence & Nathan Burns

Raised amongst the big lakes of northern Ontario, Cadence & Nathan now reside under the big skies of northern Alberta, and are very content to call it home. A grass roots folk pop duo with a taste and appreciation for life's peaks and valleys, the two write songs from the heart that blend nostalgia and melancholy with a bright hope for the future.

An avid steel guitar and bluegrass lover, Nathan cut his teeth in the music scene playing steel on numerous folk, country and blues records while performing with up and coming acts such as the Kimberley Macgreggor Band, and ACMA award winning country artist Alee. Cadence, a natural songwriter, has caught the ear of many, winning competitions with her writing and singing on tracks for industry veteran and producer Tim Feehan, in California.

The two combined their talents and released their eponymous debut album in 2012 to acclaim and were happy to see it chart on independent and college radio across Canada. Since then the pair have released numerous singles that have caught the attention of music blogs and publications such as Sing Out! folk magazine and don't plan on slowing down anytime soon.

Backed by a full band made up of Harry Gregg (bass), Geoff O'Brien (drums) and Kimberley MacGreggor (mando, backup vox), the two siblings intend to continue writing, recording and performing with heart and humour whether under big skies or amogst big lakes.
